it's only a few days until Halloween, which means Husband has been trying to make me watch scary movies, and I just want to watch Hocus Pocus. he buttered me up by bringing home this jack-o-lantern the other day, stuffed with some of my favorite candies. so we watched Nightmare on Elm Street. marriage is all about
something else Husband brought home for me: a gummy cockroach. we're actually getting our apartment sprayed tomorrow because lately our house has been roach central. ick.
other Halloween-ish things in the apartment this year: a tiny pumpkin and my fingernails. I haven't actually dressed up in a costume for... 5 years. so the least I could do was a manicure. I painted them last night with a deep berry color under a black texture coat and I love the effect. bonus: this doesn't require any actual artistic ability. just paint a solid color, then paint the texture coat. easy as pie.
kindof reminds me of zombie nails. a little gruesome... creepy, cracked, dead, bloody looking almost. but it's still subtle enough that they could be work-appropriate. unless you're up close, they look like a solid deep burgundy color.
Husband also brought me home this little guy. [I'm pretty much being spoiled with Halloween treats.] it's one of those things that you stick in your headphone jack to keep out dust, and they are ev.er.y.where. over here in Asia. this one he got for free when he bought movie tickets. our big plans for Halloween night? going to see Thor 2. [perks to living in Taiwan = some movies come out a week or two early.] besides, I could think of worse ways to spend an evening than staring at Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth... what are your Halloween plans?
